Some on Twitter used the death of President Trump’s brother to attack the president, with some claiming the “wrong Trump” died.

Robert Trump died Saturday after an undisclosed illness, and the president soon after reflected on his brother, calling him his “best friend.”

“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight,” Trump said in a statement. “He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.”

Some of the president’s critics jumped on Twitter following the announcement to condemn Trump, speculating that he died of the coronavirus and that “COVID took the wrong Trump.”

The hashtag “#wrongtrump” was also trending on Sunday amid the flurry of tweets.

First TV’s Jason Howerton condemned the reaction from the critics, saying they “need Jesus.”

“Trump is not perfect and I’m not full-blown MAGA, but I can tell you this… I don’t want to be anywhere fucking near the side that created “The Wrong Trump” trending topic. Y’all need Jesus. For real,” Howerton tweeted.
