Gas prices: Decrease at the pumps to begin the work week

Published September 30, 2024 5:51am ET

Gas prices have once again decreased throughout the nation as the average cost for a gallon of regular gas dropped to $3.216 on Monday, according to AAA. Despite the drop, the price of gas remains slightly more expensive than a week ago, when regular gas was $3.208 per gallon.

With President Joe Biden deciding not to seek reelection, Vice President Kamala Harris, now the Democratic presidential nominee, has to indicate how she will address the country’s gas prices and energy costs and how both affect the economy and people’s finances.
