Pence to write two-part autobiography published by Simon & Schuster

Former Vice President Mike Pence has a new book deal.

Pence, who is seen as a possible contender for the 2024 presidential election, will write a two-book autobiography, and the first part is set to hit shelves sometime in 2023, publisher Simon & Schuster announced on Wednesday.

The books, which are untitled at the moment, will chronicle Pence’s faith and his time as a public servant.

“I am grateful to have the opportunity to tell the story of my life in public service to the American people, from serving in Congress, to the Indiana Governor’s office and as Vice President of the United States,” Pence said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the outstanding team at Simon & Schuster to invite readers on a journey from a small town in Indiana to Washington, DC.”

A prominent publisher for the biggest names in politics, Simon & Schuster recently finalized a deal for Hillary Clinton to co-write a thriller called State of Terror, and its imprint, Gallery Books, published Beautiful Things, a book by Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden. The publisher also reneged on its agreement to publish Sen. Josh Hawley’s book on Big Tech censorship following the Missouri Republican’s objection to the certification of Biden’s 2020 election victory.

In Pence’s books, Simon & Schuster said the former vice president will “address the many pivotal moments of the administration, from the time he was selected to run as Vice President through Inauguration Day on January 20, 2021.”

“Vice President Pence’s life and work, his journey as a Christian, the challenges and triumphs he has faced, and the lessons he has learned, tells an American story of extraordinary public service during a time of unrivaled public interest in our government and politics,” said Dana Canedy, senior vice president and publisher of Simon & Schuster. “His revelatory autobiography will be the definitive book on one of the most consequential presidencies in American history.”

Since leaving office, Pence joined the conservative Young America’s Foundation and took on a role as a distinguished fellow at the Heritage Foundation.

The Washington Examiner reported on Wednesday that Pence initiated the Advancing American Freedom advocacy group, an organization designed to merge traditional conservative thinking with Trumpism.

“Advancing American Freedom plans to build on the success of the last four years by promoting traditional conservative values and promoting the successful policies of the Trump administration,” Pence said in a statement.
