Hi Drive Guys,
During the very hot summer months my clutch goes all the way to the floor and stays there. I have to pull it up with my foot. In traffic it will stick and then lurch forward.
I took it in to have it looked at and was told that I had to have the clutch replaced. Now, during the very hot summer months the clutch sticks and when I first start the car up the car lurches in small spurts in first gear. Did I get taken on this deal?

Ed – Hi Diana, I think I would really like a year, make, model and some additional information on this vehicle. It sounds to me like the throw out bearing/release bearing is binding on the input sleeve or the clutch master or clutch slave cylinder is sticking. The later ones could be cue to the fact that the clutch plate is worn out. By your last question, “Did I get taken on this deal?” do you mean you have had the clutch replaced and now it lurches when first started? If that is the case, I think you might have some additional problems not taken care of when the work was done.
Jeff – Was the clutch replaced? If so it sounds as if there may be an issue with the clutch slave cylinder.
