A Maryland man was sentenced to five years in prison for possessing and advertising child pornography.

Court records say 45-year-old Michael Moskal, of Upper Marlboro, possessed hundreds of sexually explicit images of young girls and told others online how to access live sex shows.

Moskal was charged in federal court in Greenbelt after an undercover FBI officer investigating online sexual exploitation of children got an instant message from someone — later identified as Moskal — that said he was interested in Asian children between the ages of 9 and 12, court documents say. During the July 2009 chat, Moskal gave the agent the link to a Philippines-based website where people could pay for and watch live sex shows of mothers and their young children.

Moskal’s home was searched in November 2009, and agents found computers with 719 explicit images and 65 explicit videos, according to court records.

Charges were filed against him in May 2011 and he pleaded guilty in June.
