As tensions on the Korean Peninsula heat up, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected military bases to determine the readiness of his country’s missile defenses.
North Korean state media reported Kim’s visit to the military sites on Wednesday, claiming the evaluation was part of the country’s national defense strategy to utilize “strategic deterrence” in light of increased hostilities between South Korea and the United States. Kim reportedly categorized the nuclear weapons and capabilities of the U.S. as problematic and a hazard to North Korea’s national security, Reuters reported.
