Sanders accidentally walks into Senate GOP lunch

Bernie Sanders has spent so much time away from the Senate during his time on the campaign trail that he accidentally walked in to the chamber’s GOP luncheon.

After spending the last year running for the Democratic presidential nomination, the Vermont senator has not had much time to go to his party’s weekly Senate luncheons and has apparently forgotten its location, according to a report.

With his Secret Service in tow, Sanders walked in to the Republican luncheon, which was being held at the same time, only to immediately turn around as a reporter noted, “Wrong room.” Sanders quickly replied, “Thank you,” and walked out.

Sanders returned to Capitol Hill on Monday, following the final primary contest in Washington, D.C., last week. Sanders told supporters via a web address Thursday that he would soon begin working with his former opponent Hillary Clinton to defeat Donald Trump, but still plans on bringing his 1,900 delegates to the Democratic convention.
