London Mayor Sadiq Khan likely won’t be responding to President Trump’s “ill-informed tweet” on the London attack any time soon.
A spokesman for the mayor said Khan “is busy working with police, emergency services and the government to coordinate the response to this horrific and cowardly terrorist attack and provide leadership and reassurance to Londoners and visitors in our city.
“He has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they saw more police — including armed officers — on the streets.”
Trump criticized Khan on Twitter hours after the attack that left at least seven dead and dozens injured.
“At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!'” he wrote.

The quote appears to be taken from Khan’s interview with the BBC.
“Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days,” Khan said.
“There’s no reason to be alarmed. One of the things the police and all of us need to do is ensure that we’re as safe as we possibly can be,” he continued, adding that London “will never let terrorists win.”
Khan had a similar response to the Trump family in March after he was criticized by Donald Trump Jr. for saying the threat of terrorist attacks is part of living in a big city.
“I’m not going to respond to a tweet from Donald Trump Jr.,” said Mayor Sadiq Khan said. “I’ve been doing far more important things over the last 24 hours.”
