House Democratic leaders dismiss Trump immigration proposal: ‘Dead on arrival’

House Democratic leaders panned President Trump’s immigration plan, which would increase border security, reduce chain migration, and eliminate the visa lottery system.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called the proposal “dead on arrival, while Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said the idea is “a non-starter.”
