At least five Democrats in Congress were targeted on Thanksgiving with bomb threats, but they announced they are safe with their families and in touch with the authorities.

The lawmakers were Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), as well as Reps. Jahana Hayes (D-CT), Jim Himes (D-CT), John Larson (D-CT), and Joe Courtney (D-CT). The news comes days after several of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees were targeted with bomb threats or “swatting” (which is when hoax calls are used to draw in armed police to a person’s location).
