There are 21 states that will be raising the minimum wage on Wednesday — affecting approximately 9.2 million workers.

In addition, 48 cities and counties have passed their own minimum wage increases. Many of these counties, particularly in California, Colorado, and Washington, will raise wages higher than the state minimum wage.
