President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Energy, Chris Wright, who will play a key role in the incoming administration boosting domestic oil and gas production, faced fairly straightforward questions in his confirmation hearing Wednesday and appeared to have bipartisan support.
Wright is the founder and CEO of Liberty Energy, an oilfield services firm. He is also slated to serve on the incoming administration’s newly formed National Energy Council, which is expected to consist of all departments and agencies involving domestic energy.
