Georgetown Cupcakes new Girl Scout Cookies campaign

Love Thin Mints? Love Cupcakes? Fan of Georgetown Cupcakes Mint Cookies & Crème? If you answered yes to these questions your own personal nirvana starts tomorrow.

Through the entire month of April, Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis, reality tv celebrities of TLC’s DC Cupcakes series, and owners of DC’s very own Georgetown Cupcake, will be showing their support of the Girl Scout organizations with their newest cupcake creation: The thin mint cupcake.

If you’re wondering what the differences are between the Mint Cookies & Crème cupcake or the Chocolate Mint cupcake already on the menu and the new Thin Mint cupcake the answer is not much. The chocolate mint cupcake and thin mint cupcake sound very much alike. Whereas the chocolate mint cupcake is a chocolate cupcake with mint frosting, the thin mint cupcake is a chocolate cupcake with thin mint crumbs and mint gnache frosting. Instead of a chocolate fondant heart, these signature cupcakes will be covered with a fondant Girl Scout Logo.

What this cupcake lacks in originality it makes up for in good will. The best news about the newest cupcake campaign is that 100% of the proceeds go to the Girl Scout SHARE annual giving campaign which provides over $500,000 of support to local Girl Scouts and troops. To garner support for this fundraiser DC Cupcakes will also be airing a “Cookie College” episode Friday, April 1, at 10:30 pm (ET/PT) on the cable network TLC featuring a local troop of DC Girl Scouts who were granted the privilege of earning their baking badges through baking lessons at the Georgetown store. The episode will also feature the key note address by LaMontagne and Kallinis expressing their devotion to developing young women leaders, and empowering them to change the world, one cupcake or cookie at a time.
