WATCH: Megyn Kelly blasts fired MSNBC star Tiffany Cross as ‘most racist person in all of television’

Media personality Megyn Kelly celebrated the firing of Tiffany Cross, whom she considered “the most racist person in all of television,” on Friday.

For the last two years, Cross hosted The Cross Connection on MSNBC, but the network has decided not to renew her contract. Her staff, however, will stay on at the network.

“[Cross] blasted Republican members of Congress as white supremacists a day after the Wisconsin jury acquitted [Kyle] Rittenhouse,” Kelly reminded viewers of her Friday show. “Somehow, that made the Republican members of Congress white supremacists.”

Cross was fresh off the heels of a feud with Kelly, formerly of NBC. Kelly called Cross “the most racist person on television,” while Cross said that Kelly was “the blackface expert.” The former MSNBC host also said that Florida “literally looks like the d**k of the country.”

“I could give you 10 more that are way worse than any of these. That’s just what we pulled in a simple Google search,” Kelly said. “So joy, oh, joy, Tiffany Cross is gone.”

An internal MSNBC memo indicated that The Cross Connection was the network’s 16th most popular show. However, the memo also stated that the show averaged “the 2nd most African-American viewers of any weekend cable news show,” with the first being Politics Nation with Al Sharpton. Within the first quarter of 2022, The Cross Connection had increased its viewership by 32% among viewers 25-54, with the host saying that her monthly audience included as many as 4.6 million.

Kelly has over 605,000 subscribers on YouTube, with roughly 69,000 views on her farewell episode to Cross.

In a statement following the firing, Cross said: “Now is not the time to retreat to politics or Journalism as usual. It is my hope that the last two years at MSNBC have been disruptive and transformative, changing how politics are discussed and making policy more digestible. While this Journey ended abruptly, surprising many of us, my work is not done. Political violence is increasing and it’s becoming inherently more dangerous to speak the truth. But, after more than 20 years in Journalism, I will not stop. The attacks on me from other outlets and former hosts will never control my narrative.”

MSNBC made the decision not to renew Cross’s contract on Friday, purportedly saying that her comments did not adhere to the network’s standards.
