Donald Trump blasted Hillary Clinton for being a “terrible example” for his youngest son and children across the United States, citing her receiving the questions early at debates from interim DNC chair Donna Brazile.
Trump made the remarks to supporters in Warren, Mich. In the opening part of his speech he said,” I have a son named Barron, and I want to tell you she is a terrible example for my son and for the children in this country. This I can tell you.”
Trump made the remark while discussing the situation involving Brazile, who, according to new emails released by WikiLeaks on Monday, tipped off Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta about a question in a CNN debate earlier this year. She also did a similar thing by tipping off the campaign to a question in a CNN-TV One town hall.
“Did you see Donna Brazile was fired from the network for giving crooked Hillary the answers and the questions to a debate?” Trump asked. But the media … they don’t say, ‘who cares about Donna Brazile? Who cares?’
“What I care about is Hillary Clinton gets the questions to a debate. That’s a big deal,” Trump said. “And then what happens is the media, they never say ‘why didn’t you turn it in? Why did you use those questions?’ She used the questions now on numerous occasions. “Nobody’s saying, ‘why did Hillary Clinton not turn it in?'”
Later on in the event, Trump referred to the emails released by WikiLeaks as a “treasure trove,” keeping up his praise of the leaked emails.
CNN announced Monday that they have cut ties with Brazile, who had served as a political commentator for the network.
It was the second attack against Brazile by Trump on the day, having gone after her during a rally in Grand Rapids.
