Vehicle manufacturer Nissan has issued a recall of more than 236,000 of its cars over a complication that could lead to drivers losing control of their steering.
The mechanical problem affects the tie rods, which are used in a vehicle to help move its wheels to steer. The tie rods in select Nissan cars are in the car’s front suspension, which can bend and even break, according to Associated Press.

This recall is for Sentra compact cars from the 2020 to 2022 model years.

Owners who own one of these models are advised to call their dealer if their steering wheel is off-center or they feel a vibration in their car. At first, the dealers will inspect and replace any bent or broken tie rods. Once a new design is available, they will replace both the left and right tie rods at no cost to owners.

Anyone who owns one of these recalled vehicles will be notified through a letter in the mail starting on Oct. 5. After that, another letter will be issued to alert owners when the parts are available.
Notably, a lot of these vehicles were previously recalled two years ago for the same flaw, meaning these cars will once again need new tie rods, according to Nissan documents.
