Postmaster General Louis DeJoy said the U.S. Postal Service signed an agreement with the General Services Administration and the Department of Government Efficiency aiming to improve the efficiency of the USPS.

The USPS has undertaken a 10-year plan, titled Delivering for America, aimed at fixing the agency’s poor fiscal standing and operations and transforming it into one that is “self-sustaining and high performing.” The controversial plan spearheaded by DeJoy includes higher postal rates, slower standard delivery, and fewer post offices, among other changes to the USPS. It also included a reduction of the USPS labor force by 30,000 people since fiscal 2021.
