The Pittsburgh Steelers will not take the field for the national anthem Sunday in response to President Trump calling players who don’t stand for the “Star Spangled Banner” sons of bitches.
According to multiple reports, the Steelers will stay in the locker room during the playing of the anthem in response to Trump. The president started on a crusade against NFL players who kneel during the anthem Friday during a campaign rally for Sen. Luther Strange, R-Ala.
Trump has continued criticizing the NFL and players who don’t stand for the anthem during the weekend in a series of tweets, calling for fans to boycott the NFL until players are fired or suspended for kneeling during the anthem.
One player, Alejandro Villanueva, did come out for the anthem. Villanueva is a veteran U.S. Army Ranger and has been critical of players kneeling during the anthem.

Players began kneeling during the anthem last year as a protest of police brutality and racism in the United States.
