Trump: Travel ‘running very smoothly’ ahead of Thanksgiving holiday

President Trump said Wednesday millions of Americans are encountering smooth roads and airports on the busiest travel day of the year under his watch.

“51 Million American to travel this weekend – highest number in twelve years (AAA). Traffic and airports are running very smoothly! @FoxNews,” Trump tweeted Wednesday.

The president is currently at his Florida property, the Mar-a-Lago, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Trump golfed Wednesday, and had a “full schedule of meetings and phone calls,” White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters told reporters.

Trump also offered his prayers to the crew aboard an Argentine submarine, the ARA San Juan, that disappeared last week. The submarine was carrying 44 crew members. There was enough oxygen on board to last seven to 10 days, according to CNN.

“I have long given the order to help Argentina with the Search and Rescue mission of their missing submarine. 45 people aboard and not much time left. May God be with them and the people of Argentina!” the president tweeted.

The U.S. Navy is assisting with search-and-rescue efforts.
