Donald Trump’s national political director, Jim Murphy, is taking a less-involved role within the Republican nominee’s campaign, multiple sources reported Thursday evening.
“I have not resigned but for personal reasons have had to take a step back from the campaign,” Murphy said in a statement to Politico.

Aides have also said Murphy has been increasingly missing at recent events as the campaign embarks on its final three weeks before the election.
Murphy had joined Trump’s team in June following years as a Republican operative.
