A man was arrested in western Loudoun County in connection with a 2007 gang assault, authorities said.
Victor Hernandez-Suaza, 23, of Colombia, was arrested Feb. 1 on charges of two counts of assault by mob and two counts of participating in a criminal act to benefit a gang, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Hernandez-Suaza is at the Loudoun County Detention Center without bond. He is also being held on a federal detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, officials said.
Authorities identified Hernandez-Suaza as one of 11 suspects in a Sept. 21, 2007 gang assault at an apartment complex in Ashburn. Officials said that a firearm was fired through the front door of an apartment during the incident.
Warrants for Hernandez-Suaza’s arrest were obtained in October 2007, but he wasn’t found then, and authorities believe he left the area. Authorities said they recently received information about Hendandez-Suaza’s possible whereabouts, and he was arrested at a home in Hamilton.
All 11 suspects in the incident have now been arrested, officials said.
