Qatar’s ambassador to the U.S. sent out a tweet reaffirming the countries’ relationship and joint efforts to combat terrorism after President Trump applauded Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations for accusing Qatar of financing terrorism and cutting ties with their Middle Eastern neighbor.

“Qatar remains a strong US ally and strategic partner in anti-terrorism efforts, in the region and abroad,” said Ambassador Sheikh Meshal Bin Hamad Al-Than in a tweet Thursday.
