Fimian: Herrity a ‘beacon of hope’ in Northern Virginia

Are the wounds from the 11th Congressional District GOP primary healing?

Republican nominee Keith Fimian made an appearance on WAMU’s Kojo Nnamdi show on Friday. He had good things to say about his opponent in the brutal primary battle, Fairfax County supervisor Pat Herrity.

Fimian described Herrity as a “very fine guy.”

“Pat and I are very, very similar in…many ways, and he is a beacon of hope and a strong voice in Northern Virginia,” Fimian continued.

Herrity, though, will not be attending the 11th District Republican Committee’s “Unity Dinner” Friday night, however. He said he’s planning to head to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for a family vacation

“This has been a long-scheduled vacation,” Herrity said. “I wish I could be [at the dinner].”
