President Trump mocked the two leading Democratic candidates for turning in lackluster performances during Thursday’s Democratic debate and suggested their failures don’t even matter because Joe Biden is “sleepy” and Bernie Sanders is “crazy.”
“I am in Japan at the G-20, representing our Country well, but I heard it was not a good day for Sleepy Joe or Crazy Bernie. One is exhausted, the other is nuts – so what’s the big deal?” he tweeted from Osaka, Japan

Neither the former vice president nor the socialist senator from Vermont stood out during the debate, which by most accounts was won by California Sen. Kamala Harris.
Biden in particular was judged on the losing end, taking heat from Harris over his past positions against desegregation and positive comments he made in recent days about pro-segregation senators he served with years ago.
Trump had promised to live-tweet the two Democratic debate Wednesday and Thursday but has taken a relatively restrained approach while focusing on his work at the G-20 summit. His comment that he is “representing our Country well” suggests that he is pursuing a strategy of seeking to appear presidential and above the fray while the Democrats slug it out.
