The unemployment rate in Arlington County and Alexandria dropped slighty from September to October, according to new data from the Virginia Employment Commission.
Unemployment in Arlington fell from 4 percent to 3.8 percent. Alexandria’s rate fell from 4.5 percent to 4.4 percent.
The unemployment rate in Fairfax County remained steady at 4.6 percent.
Northern Virginia continues to boast some of the lowest unemployment rates in the state, with Arlington County consistently setting the bar for low unemployment. Overall, the state average remained static at 6.5 percent.
