Nevada Democrats introduce ‘Mitch McTurtle’ mascot to mock Mitch McConnell

The Nevada Democratic Party trolled Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell with their newly revealed mascot on Tuesday.

The state party introduced “Mitch McTurtle” on Tuesday, as a “stand-in” for the Kentucky Republican. The turtle mascot came equipped with a burlap money bag, a name tag that read “Mitch,” and a podium that read “shelling out millions for Dean Heller since 2011.”

Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., is up for re-election in 2018 and is expected to face a tough battle with the Democrats to maintain his seat. Rep. Jacky Rosen, D- Nev., will likely be the Democratic nominee.

For a number of reasons, including his appearance and personality, people have poked fun at McConnell for years by comparing him to a turtle.
