The Howard County Commission on Disabilities is seeking nominees for its 2007 awards program.
The awards recognize outstanding efforts in advancing community participation for all residents with disabilities, promoting the intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act and achieving independence through pursuing personalgoals.
Nomination categories include employer of the year, service provider of the year, accessibility award and individual achievement award. Additional consideration may be given to advocacy groups, personal or business initiatives that benefit disability groups, and development of a plan for inclusion of people with disabilities.
Nominees may be a Howard business, building or place, person or agency.
The deadline for nominations is July 16. Award winners will be recognized at an Oct. 4 event.
