JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Hispanic students in grades 6-8 are being sought by the Central Mississippi Area Health Education Center for its science education program.
The Clarion-Ledger reports (http://on.thec-l.com/MBuDnn ) participants meet one Saturday a month at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where they take courses in math, science, reading and computer science taught by health professionals.
Participants learn about careers in health and science.
Deadline to register is Aug. 31. The application can be found online at mca.umc.edu/programs/step.html
The program is a partnership of the center and the University of Mississippi Medical Center Office of Multicultural Affairs.
