Why Trump doesn’t want Clinton to get indicted

Donald Trump admitted to Fox News host Bill O’Reilly that as much as he wants fellow presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to be held accountable for her use of a private email server while secretary of state, he doesn’t want her to be indicted by the FBI before November.

“I hope she can run in one way because I would love to run against her,” Trump said late Thursday. “I’ll beat her.”

In February, the FBI announced it was investigating Clinton’s use of a home-based private email server, a breach of security protocols for cabinet officials.

Trump predicted last week Clinton will not be indicted because members of the Democratic Party are working behind he scenes to protect Clinton from the federal agency.

“I think the Democratic Party is going to protect her. I don’t think she’s going to be indicted,” Trump had said. “I think what she’s done is very, very serious, but I do believe that she’s being protected.”

If nominated and elected to the Oval Office, Trump said he would take advantage of the six-year statute of limitations, which would give his administration the ability to look back at Clinton’s time as top diplomat, to “very fairly” see if she had abused any privileges while at the State Department.
