Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said Thursday he’d be surprised if former FBI Director James Comey testified that he was pressured by President Trump to drop his Russia investigation, because Comey has already told the Senate that he had not seen that kind of political pressure.
“That would surprise me. I’m on the Judiciary Committee, and just a few weeks ago, we had still-director Comey come and testify.
“Someone asked him about political pressure, and he said this is something I haven’t seen, and something in my experience has not occurred,” he said.

Despite that earlier testimony, CNN has reported that Comey will testify next week that he was pressured by Trump to drop the Russia probe.
When asked about memos that Comey reportedly wrote describing Trump’s pressure on him, Lee said he has not seen them, and again said they would go against his prior testimony.
“Those memos, if they exist, if he said those things, would seem to contradict his testimony,” he said.
“So that’ll be my first question, is how do you reconcile that memo, if in fact it does say that, with the testimony [he] provided the committee in early May.”
Comey is expected to testify next week at the Senate Intelligence Committee.
