‘Force with compassion’: Trump promises better training for police

President Trump said his administration will invest more in training for police departments, including de-escalation techniques, as he responded to weeks of protests against police brutality.

But the president, who spoke during a visit to Dallas, Texas, also fired a warning at the Black Lives Matter movement and “defund the police” activists, defending the majority of officers and saying progress would not be made by labeling millions of Americans racist.
