Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is pressuring President Trump to take action against Syrian leader Bashar Assad for Tuesday’s chemical attack that killed more than 70 people, including children.

On Wednesday, the 2016 Republican presidential candidate said comments State Sec. Rex Tillerson recently made about Assad may have triggered the attack on his own citizens, one of the most deadly attacks in the six-year civil war.
By Thursday, Tillerson said something was “underway” with an “international community effort” to remove Assad from office, an about-face from comments he made last week that Assad’s future would be decided by the people.
