A father who lost his teenage daughter during the shooting in Parkland, Fla., last week delivered an emotional plea to President Trump on Wednesday, demanding that he do something to prevent the future loss of lives on school campuses across America.
“I’m here because my daughter has no voice. She was murdered last week,” Andrew Pollack, who joined his son for a listening session at the White House, told Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and several parents and students who were also impacted by the Parkland shooting.
“I can’t get on a plane with a bottle of water, but we leave some animal to walk into a school and shoot our children,” Pollack continued, adding that he was frustrated when he noticed a security guard in an elevator at the Education Department earlier Wednesday and wondered why there isn’t a similar security presence in schools like his son’s.
“I’m pissed because my daughter, I’m not going to see again,” he said. “She’s not here. She’s at [a] cemetery, where I go to visit her now.”
