The Daily Wire aims to rival the Walt Disney Company in creating children’s content, providing a conservative alternative amid Disney’s partnership with the Left in pushing against new education legislation in Florida.
The conservative news website’s foray into content for a younger audience stemmed from Disney and other corporations “being held hostage by the woke because they are cowards,” Ben Shapiro said Tuesday.
“If you want entertainment that’s going to cater to your children, we’re going to start making kids’ content over here at Daily Wire specifically,” Shapiro said Tuesday. “So you don’t have to be catered to by companies who hate your guts and cater to the people who despise your values.”

Shapiro himself admitted he would continue to watch Disney movies with his children. His mother, according to him, was once an executive at Disney Channel.
But he won’t let his children see Disney’s Lightyear, however, because of a planned kiss between same-sex characters.
After internal mixed messages, Disney came out as harshly critical of Florida’s bill prohibiting public school teachers from teaching sexual topics until fourth grade. Gov. Ron DeSantis has stood by the bill, claiming that it is written with Floridian parents in mind.

A small number of Disney employees protested the bill. They were recently seen outside Walt Disney Animation Studios in California and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, chanting, “Say gay,” a reference to political opponents framing the legislation as the “Don’t Say ‘Gay'” bill despite those words’ absence from the text.
Meanwhile, other Disney employees called for political neutrality in an open letter. The employees, who said they are “not progressive,” called Disney a “unique brand of family entertainment” that is “an objective good in this dark world.”
