A third of Texans do not want to vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in November, according to a new survey.
Trump leads Clinton by seven percentage points, 37-30, in the survey conducted by Democratic pollster Leland Beatty. The Democratic pollster’s survey found more people supported “Unsure / Someone Else,” 31 percentage points, than supported the presumptive Democratic nominee.
The results do not show much of an appetite for Libertarian Gary Johnson either, who polled at 3 percent.
Among undecided voters, “honesty and integrity of the candidates” is their most important issue followed by “the economy and jobs.”
The survey of 998 registered voters was conducted on June 13 and 14, the two days immediately after the terrorist attack and mass shooting in Orlando. The poll has a 3.1 percentage point margin of error, and expected 2016 general election turnout to include 44 percent of respondents as usually voting Republicans, 28 percent Democrat and 28 percent undecided.
