Tonight is the occasion of the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, which Ron Fournier deplores:
For his part, Tom Brokow won’t attend. Because, you see, Lindsay Lohan was there last year, as he explained to Politico:
People out in the country, watching the event on television, might get the wrong idea about Washington and the media, as Brokow explains:
Yeah, well there might be some people out there who suspected Washington and the media of narcissism, and worse, without even being aware that such an event took place and that someone named Lindsay Lohan was tarnishing the reputation of Washington and the media by her presence. Must be quite a gal.
And, in the end, those same people might just think, “What the hell, let ’em party. For a couple of hours, the country will be safe.”
