The Maryland Stadium Authority on Friday approved spending $5.2 million on a new large high-definition-capable video board and a new out-of-town scoreboard at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The current video board, which had malfunctioned at times last season, will be replaced. ANC Sports/Mitubishi Electronics will install the Diamond Vision System and said it would be up and running by March 17. Opening Day for the Orioles is March 31.
The system is the same product used by the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.
“This system is the most technological available,” said Frederick W. Puddester, chairman of the MSA. “It will enhance the ballpark experience while maintaining the ballpark?s traditional feel.” ?
