White House deputy press secretary Sarah Sanders said former FBI Director James Comey committed “atrocities” by not telling the Obama Department of Justice what he was going to say at the press conference on Hillary Clinton’s emails in 2016.
“Having a letter like the one that he received and having that conversation that outlined the basic just atrocities in circumventing the chain of command in the Department of Justice, any person of legal mind and authority knows what a big deal that is,” Sanders said.
The word “atrocities” is usually reserved for war crimes and human rights abuses on the scale of the chemical weapons attack in Syria earlier this year.
