RIDGEWAY, Va. (AP) — Henry County’s prosecutor has requested an investigation of animal cruelty allegations following an accident involving a truck hauling turkeys.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says witnesses reported seeing workers jump on live turkeys and throw birds against the side of the truck after it overturned on U.S. 220 on June 14.
