Bikes for the World, a project of the nonprofit Washington Area Bicyclist Association, badly needs some space.
Bikes for the World collects unwanted bikes and ships them at a low cost to community development programs assisting the poore. Over the past six years, the project has channeled about 50,000 donated bikes through its principal storage site located near Tysons Corner.
Because of Metro construction in the Tysons area, Bikes for the World must move. The organization is looking for an out-of-the-way parking lot to situate five trailers to continue its operation.
