Cordish expands on racing relationship

The Cordish Company is speeding up with NASCAR once again.

Based in Baltimore, Cordish Co., a national developer of entertainment complexes, announced a joint venture with ISC Properties to develop a $250 million mixed-use facility across from Daytona International Speedway.

“Cordish has seen tremendous success in other similarly styled developments across the country, and they bring a wealth of knowledge to our proposed project,” Lesa France Kennedy, president of ISC Properties, the parent company of NASCAR, said in a statement.

Located in Daytona Beach, Fla., the 71-acre property to be known as Daytona Live! will feature a 2,500-seat multiscreen movie theater, a residential component and a 160 room hotel. Tentative plans are also being discussed to construct about 200,000 square feet of office space that would be the home for the headquarters of ISC, NASCAR, Grand-Am and various other businesses.

“We expect to leverage this experience with the popularity of Daytona Beach and the renowned Daytona International Speedway to create a unique environment and unparalleled entertainment experience for racing fans, visitors and Volusia County residents,” David Cordish, chairman of the Cordish Co., said in a release.
