Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz took the hatchet out Tuesday against Donald Trump, going after him for being a “pathological liar” hours before the polls closed in Indiana.
During a gaggle with press in Evansville, Ind., the Texas senator let loose on the GOP front-runner after Trump went on TV Tuesday morning to connect his father, Rafael Cruz, to the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
“Let’s be clear — this is nuts,” Cruz said of the accusation, which was first spread by the National Enquirer. “This is not a reasonable position — this is just kooky. While I’m at it, I should admit that yes, my dad killed JFK, he is secretly Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa is buried in his backyard.”
Cruz then upped the ante against Trump, calling him out for his repeated “lies,” while adding that even President Obama thinks he’s a “narcissist.”
“I’m going to do something I haven’t done for the entire campaign. … I’m going to tell you what I really think of Donald Trump,” Cruz told the press. “This man is a pathological liar. He doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his month.”
“His response is to accuse everybody else of lying. … The man cannot tell the truth, but he combines it with being a narcissist,” Cruz said. “Donald Trump is such a narcissist that Barack Obama looks at him and says ‘what are you doing?”
Cruz also added that morality “doesn’t exist” in Trump’s mind, adding that the real estate mogul has admitted that he’s never sought out forgiveness from the Lord — with Cruz himself noting that he’s sought forgiveness “three times” just today.
The Texas senator hit Trump also for being a “serial philanderer.”
