WATCH LIVE: San Francisco DA gives update on alleged Pelosi attacker

Officials in San Francisco are expected to hold a press conference on Monday to discuss the break-in and attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), that happened at their home early Friday last week.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins will unveil state charges against David DePape, 42, the man accused of violently attacking Paul Pelosi with a hammer, in San Francisco Superior Court, according to a press release.

The press conference is slated to comment around 3 p.m. California time.

Authorities have detained DePape, who was already slapped with federal charges on Monday. He faces one count of attempted kidnapping of a U.S. official for his apparent bid to abduct House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), which can carry up to 30 years in prison, and one count of assault of an immediate family member of a U.S. official, which can entail up to 20 years behind bars.
