The Appalachian Air Canines, founded in 2006, is a small club of Frisbee dog enthusiasts from Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Frisbee competitions are held once a month, followed by a social event for dogs and their owners. The Appalachian Air Canines Web site estimates that more than 1 million dogs play Frisbee in the United States alone.
The organization?s March Mayhem event was held on Sunday, where 200 spectators watched as 35 teams of dogs ran, leaped and dodged their way to Frisbee victory. For more information, visit www.aircanines.com.
