Fairfax County police say a man was apprehended shortly after robbing a Lorton bank.

The robber was reported at about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at the SunTrust Bank located at 9400 Richmond Highway, police said.

Police said a man entered the bank, implied he was carrying a weapon and demanded money. The suspect fled after obtaining cash.

Officers responding to the scene found 51-year-old William Kistler on Lorton Road near Armistead Road — less than a quarter-mile from the bank — and apprehended him, police said.

The amount of money he obtained wasn’t disclosed. No one was injured in the robbery.
