Charlie Kirk’s widow tells America: ‘You have no idea what you have unleashed’

Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, expressed defiance and sorrow in a public message Friday night as she vowed to continue her husband’s movement at Turning Point USA.

An assassin shot and killed Charlie Kirk earlier this week at Utah Valley University.

“They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith, and God’s merciful love. They should all know this: If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea,” she said.

She stood behind a podium that read, “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving savior.”

During the speech, she vowed, however, that his death wouldn’t be in vain.

“You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country, in this world, you have no idea. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife; the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry. To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die.”

Kirk’s widow announced that the campus tour he was on would continue, as would his radio and podcast show.

Earlier in her speech, Erika said that Charlie had thought about running for office. She said if he did, his top priority would be “to revive the American family.”

Erika’s speech comes after Charlie’s alleged killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was caught on Friday. He allegedly shot and killed Charlie in front of a crowd of college students and fled.

Kirk’s death brought a flood of sympathy for his wife and children from both political parties.

Erika, 36, hosts a podcast and owns a faith-based clothing company. Her speech was her first public statement since her husband died.
