BILL CLINTON’S PATHETIC LIES (CONT’D)

President Clinton never lets you down. At a White House luncheon on September 25 with several dozen media friends (and a few critics), he tossed off a fresh whopper. Gays in the military? “Well, to be fair, I didn’t take that on,” he declared. “That was an issue that was visited on the presidency.. .I didn’t have any choice. It was brought up — the people who brought it up were the Republican senators.” Clinton, of course, had pledged flatly and repeatedly that, once elected, he’d lift the ban on gays in the military. At the lunch, Clinton also said this: “I think [I] had underestimated the importance of the presidency, even though I had read all the books and seen it all and experienced it in my lifetime.” He “experienced” the presidency before he was president?

Strange.
