First Lady Melania Trump is returning to New York City with her 10-year-old son, Barron, on her 12th wedding anniversary to President Trump.
“The first lady thanks everyone for their support and a beautiful welcome to Washington. She is returning to New York in advance of the school week and will be splitting her time between Washington and New York for the next few weeks,” her spokeswoman told CNN on Sunday.
The president said after the election that his wife would remain at their residence in Trump Tower until their son finished the school year.
“It’s a little hard to take him out of school,” he said in December. “Melania will be back and forth for that first couple of months. We’ll be staying in the White House.”
