Tuesday afternoon’s White House press briefing was interrupted by a mysterious noise.
The sound, which resembled a creaking door, led Jen Psaki to look up at the ceiling while she spoke on coronavirus protocols.
“Have no fear. The ceiling is not falling that I’m aware of,” Psaki told reporters after the brief interruption. “It’s an old building.”

“Maybe Lincoln’s ghost. That’s quite something. Maybe it is,” she joked with a journalist.

The noise was later determined to be from the swiveling camera affixed to the ceiling.

Psaki was addressing a question regarding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest guidance that says fully vaccinated individuals can go maskless for many outside activities.
“If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing many things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic,” the CDC wrote in its updated guidance on Tuesday.
“You can gather or conduct activities outdoors without wearing a mask except in certain crowded settings and venues,” the agency also said.

The CDC has also done away with the recommendation for travelers to get tested before and after their trips within the United States if they’ve received both shots.
A total of 232,407,669 vaccine doses have been administered throughout the country out of 297,543,635 that have been distributed, according to the CDC.
