Bette Midler mocks ‘gas guzzling’ Americans complaining about prices

Hollywood star Bette Midler dismissed the protests of everyday people feeling the pressure of rising gas prices, saying they can “whine” all they want.

The 76-year-old appears to have no sympathy for drivers struggling to fill their tanks and posted a meme to Twitter Sunday letting them know how she really feels.

“You BOUGHT The gas Guzzling Truck,” the meme reads. “Go ahead & WHINE about gas prices [a crying laughing emoji] I swear I’m listening,” the meme reads.

Gas is still averaging over $4.00 per gallon across the United States, according to a report, but Hollywood actors do not seem to be worried.

Last month, Star Trek star George Takei told the public to endure rising gas prices in order to help Ukraine.

“Americans: We can endure higher prices for food and gas if it means putting the screws to Putin,” he tweeted March 4. “Consider it a patriotic donation in the fight for freedom over tyranny.”

The comment was not well-received.

“Hey rich guy, you can endure this, but us working class people, this is crushing us,” a user commented.

Late night host Stephen Colbert recently laughed off rising gas prices.
